Fort Preston (1840-184?). Established as a Texas Ranger post during the Texas Republic period by Col. William G. Cooke (Pierce disputes that it even existed).

History

Location:

Located on a bend in the Red River West of Denison, Texas. The old town of Preston and Fort Preston are now located under Lake Texoma in Grayson County, Texas. Exact location unknown and the map is centered on Preston Park.
