  5. Cyrus DeHart born 17 June, 1757; died 7 Sep 1831 (aged 74); buried Saint John's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Elizabeth, Union county, New Jersey, [findagrave;7233515]; he married Mary Boudinet Chetwood 25 December, 1787 [] She was born 21 September, 1761.
    He was appointed an ensign in the 1st New Jersey Regiment on September 18, 1776, was promoted to second, and then first, lieutenant in 1777. On March 11, 1780 he was commissioned a captain lieutenant and in December 1780 a captain. In January 1781 he transferred to the 2nd New Jersey Regiment, where he served until the end of the war.
