A Pushkin Party at the Main Street Museum 58 Bridge Street, White River Junction, Vermont 7–8 August, 2009 — 6–9 p.m.
On Friday, 7 August, the Main Street Museum opens a multi-media art environment dedicated to poetry, love, and the triumph of beauty over death. Orchestrations by St. Petersburg artist, Petr Shvetsov, and friends.
The event’s hero will be world-class Romantic genius, Alexander Pushkin (Алекса́ндр Серге́евич Пу́шкин, June 6 [O.S. May 26] 1799–February 10 [O.S. January 29] 1837), whose words, images are universally recognized for their mystical qualities and remembered for their narcotic sweetness. The collective consumption of vast quantities of Pushkin will reward us with unearthly ecstasies. Join us!
Friday, 7 August, 6 to 9 p.m.
Opening reception with wine, cheese and live jazz, for the Pushkin Wonder Cabinet detailing the poet's life, works, and sacrificial slaughter. Exhibition of this rare collection from St Petersburg of Russian artifacts connected with, or commemorating the life of, Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.
Unveiling of a Banner from the front of the Museum Building bearing Pushkin’s Image, visible from a distance of 100 km Gallery talk about painting by Petr Shvetsov.

Some of the Pushkin Artifacts:
- A wax cast of his fatal bullet wound, showing also his navel. Pushkin died from wounds sustained from a pistol 29 January, 1837 died 2:45, Examining Drs. Ivan Timofeevich Spasski, Vladimir Ivanovich Dahl made the cast at 7:17 p.m.
- Locks of hair of Alexander Pushkin, a. from his childhood; b. from his yound adult-hood; c. from his adult years.
- Vine from the house he lived in from 1824 - 1826.
- A small, handblown drinking glass for vodka owned by Pushkin.
- The flower he plucked when he realized he would never be able to leave Russia.
