Stand-in for the Piece of Wood from the Old Ledyard Bridge. Pine, or other softwood, with evidence of petroleum preservative. Of apparent sentimental value, there are two pieces of this bridge in Dartmouth Special Collections (Dartmouth Realia Common box III, item 981-022). The stand-in used here was fabricated to the rough dimensions and appearance as original by Main Street Museum staff after original artifact located in the Dartmouth Special Collections Library was refused for exhibition at the Hood Museum, 2003.

Original Gift of Mrs. Theodore Miner (Theodore Miner – Dartmouth class of 1923).
