Headache Causes and Cures, Including Tibetan, Native American & Herbal, Case D

In many ways, the head, with its brain is quite the most important part of any animals body. Our (perhaps overdeveloped) ability to think is of first importance culturally. But, reasoning ability also has a biological component. Physically our brains are made up of a large lump of tissue, fluid, neurons and a structure of “undifferentiated gray matter”—which resembles so much banana pudding under disection. Of course, the heart and the liver do good work; and St. Paul himself advises us that no part of any body can say to the other parts, “I have no need of thee!” So although we do not ascribe more honor to one of the parts over any other, the majority of the sensory organs are in the head. Everything coming in—and not a few things “going out”—do so through the head. Heaven help us if we had no heart, but the eyes, nose, ears and mouth—they are the orifices through which we aprehend everything. And every bit of stimulus we receive through these orifices is just that—empty stimulous, until unraveled, recreated and interpreted by the brain.

See comparisons to “Objects With Orifices,” Case E.

Artifacts are labeled according to their relationship to: a) the Head; b) Headache Causes, noxious qualities and/or potential for violence; c) Headache Cures, balms and/or pain regulating anodynes.
