Artifact Description

Blue Drink & Windshield Wiper Fluid. A Comparative Display.

"Wild Berry Drink" and "Windshield Wiper Fluid" both in plastic one gallon containers.

Illuminated. Contemporary. A demonstration in the consumer comparison of color. Both fluids are mass-produced and are commonly available. Both fluids are blue. From time to time, the "Wild Berry Drink" will actually eat through its transluscent container and leak. The windshield wiper fluid appears relatively stable.

In March of 2009, according to AP reports dated from Little Rock, ten children in an Arkansas day care center drank windshield wiper fluid after "it was mistaken for Kool-Aid and placed in a refrigerator."

Authorities stated that they children were hospitalized but later released in good condition, but that several had "measurable levels" of methanol in blood samples.
