Wren's Nest with Branch. Organic matter (birch bark and pine needles) and branch (Dogwood. Cornus florida. Benthamidia florida. "Flowering Dogwood".) Unknown date.

This nest makes an interesting comparison to the starling nest (fa;). This bird’s nest is tightly woven, indicating some member of the wren family. The starling nest has all of the messy, haphazard construction of the pigeon’s and perhaps less aesthetic sense—if such a thing is possible.
