Brick, “D. B. Co.” manufactured by the Densmore Brick Company, Lebanon, New Hampshire, (19__). Terracotta with applied mortar from the former Smith Company, now Tip-Top, Bakery, White River Jct. ca. 1910 (collected 2002) c.e., 9 – 21 – 6 cm. Collection Main Street Museum, HOIA Hall, White River Jct. This brick, preserved during the renovation process of the Tip-Top Building, White River Jct., was part of the Vermont Baking Company building, designed for Smith & Sons by Hartford, Vermont architect Louis Sheldon Newton in 1910. Jens Larson designed many of the brick buildings at Dartmouth, renovated others, helped design the present college campus, including Baker Library (1928) and utilized the same brick company.
