Emily Eastridge
Emily Eastridge was born in Fairfax Virginia. She lived in Maryland during her early childhood and did the majority of her growing in Vermont.
After high school, Emily fled the rural ennui of Vermont and made a life for herself in Boston, MA. In Boston, Emily attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts with a focus on photography, video and performance art. She worked with a number of talented artists during this time, most notably with Raishad Glover, with whom she developed the performative ensemble, CoachTV. With CoachTV, Emily performed at The Armory Show in NYC, The Howard Yezerski Gallery in Boston and Yale University. Amidst working with CoachTV, Emily engaged in collaborations with Guillermo Gómez-Peña (Oaxaca, Mexico), TEST (Boston), Encounterworks (Boston) and The Clinic (Art Basel, Miami).
While very much enamored with the collaborations and solo work she was creating, Emily started to become disenchanted with the formal art world. Perhaps this had something to do with her new rock and rock undertaking, Pariah Beat. In any event, Emily abandoned fine art and took up playing bass in this energetic Americana, Honky-punk outfit, which she continues to perform with.
Recently, Emily has moved back to Vermont and has discovered that it is culturally bountiful and one of the most beautiful places in the world. Emily intends on staying in VT and currently works as Events Coordinator at the Main Street Museum.
