Native Flora Specimen. Unknown type. From Sagamore Hill, Oyster Bay, Long Island. Collected from a wild, fully shaded area half-way from the house to the beach area, near the inland bay of salt water.

Sagamore Hill was the home of Theodore Roosevelt (27 October 1858 – 6 January 1919) from 1886 until his death in 1919. It is located on Long Island, 45 miles (72 km) east of Manhattan. The property is now a National Park and includes the house, a Museum, a wild-life area and Tidal flats on Oyster Bay.
